Chinese People Meet, they do it in parks, on the street, in schools and office blocks. But how can you meet up with them if you don’t live in China? Well, there are plenty of people around the globe who have Chinese heritage, and whilst not that many of them appear to use ChinesePeopleMeet.com, there are a few more members from China who are looking for love from foreign shores.

Unfortunately, though, we still feel that this website will struggle when compared with some of its peers. In short: it simply doesn’t have the membership numbers to offer you the best chance of finding a Chinese date.

Okay, sometimes finding a date is more about the individual you are attracted to, but when we searched for women aged 18 to 30, over the entire planet, we only got 2 pages of results, where we might expect ten times that. However, those members had mostly completed their profiles and uploaded attractive photos. The level of English seemed quite high, too.

Sadly, we feel that the profiles are a bit bland. Whilst they do include all the basic information you’d hope for, as well as some pretty good photos, the pages felt generic and uninspired, with a basic blue and white color scheme. Since members don’t have to include information if they don’t want to, we discovered that many profiles were not completed and offered little to help us understand the members and what they were looking for. 

Although a bit dull, the website is easy to navigate. The left column provides a series of useful links to key areas including your inbox, search options, community, information about who likes you, plus dating stories and tips. Whilst we were pleased to see a community section, the “live chat” link didn’t appear to work, possibly because nobody was using the chat rooms.

Also, when we searched for members who were online, within a particular age range, we got zero results. This doesn’t bode well. The “instant match” option will tell you about members who might suit your personal interests and preferences, but search options are quite limited. 

ChinesePeopleMeet does show promise. It has the basics ready to go, but its lack of active members means that you’ll really find it a lot harder to find a date. Still, that isn’t to say it’s impossible. Basic membership is free so you can build a profile and perform a few searches, but we find it hard to recommend paying for the service unless you locate someone who you know will respond to you.

Yes, the site is cheap if you upgrade, but we anticipate that you might find you’ve wasted your money. There are other Chinese dating websites, albeit perhaps more expensive, where your money will actually get you a few responses and potentially lead to dates.

Chinese People Meet might be worth reconsidering at a later date, once membership numbers have improved and it can put its features to good use.
